For millennia different types of metals have been used by mankind. Over these millennia we have become experts in metallurgy, however, metals are still prone to fatigue, corrosion, abrasion and blemishing. A variety of applications and treatments have been created in order to attempt to address these problems, however none match the range of functionality offered by nanopool metal treatments. A large variety of metals are used within our daily lives, some of them are clearly visible and are used for functional integrity or for aesthetic reasons, others are and hidden, again for practical or aesthetic reasons They can appear in solid form, that means with a metallic surface, or as an alloy (i.e. stainless steel, brass and bronze). Generally speaking they have good thermal conductivity, they can show different hardness (soft lead and hard chrome) and have a certain affinity towards oxygen which means they react easily with oxygen (oxidisation) and build up layers of oxides, for example “rust”. Metallic surfaces partly require a protective layer in order to prevent oxidisation or abrasion. Our np-coatings, specifically designed for metallic surfaces, can add enhanced properties to metals, these properties protect the value and the performance of the these important items:

  • Protection against corrosion
  • Protection against abrasion
  • Acid and alkaline resistance
  • Hydrophobicity
  • Oleophobicity
  • Conductibility (isolation/insulation)
  • Antimicrobial characteristic

All np-coatings are easy to apply and can be modified according to specific requirements.
