On March 25, 2024, Nova Odessa, Brazil, celebrates a historic moment in the development of solar energy. Nanopool®, a family-owned technology company, receives the prestigious Green World Award for its revolutionary NP® PV coating. This award not only underscores the significance of this innovation for progress in solar technology, but also marks a turning point in the global use of solar energy.
The NP® PV coating is the result of years of research and development and was developed to improve the efficiency of photovoltaic systems. Depending on the system, location and conditions, it can increase energy yield even under less-than-ideal light conditions, such as overcast skies or in regions with less sunshine. This can enable already installed solar systems to produce more energy without additional space requirements or new installations – an advantage in a world where space for solar energy projects is becoming ever more precious.
The coating is also designed to protect the surface of the panels from environmental influences and wear. How this affects the service life of an installation depends on location and operating conditions.
Every additional kilowatt hour that an existing installation generates is electricity that does not have to be produced elsewhere – the actual effect depends on the respective installation.
The recognition through the Green World Award confirms Nanopool®‘s work on the NP® PV coating and underscores the importance of solar energy as a key technology for the energy transition. This award is not only an honor, but also a call to the entire industry to fully harness the potential of existing solar installations.
We are proud of our team for this outstanding achievement and see the NP® PV coating as an important step for the further use of existing solar installations.
