City of Heidelberg – Sustainable stone protection with Nanopool®

Long-term hygiene, material protection and energy efficiency in one project:
To protect the new sandstone benches along the Neckarlauer riverbank from dirt, algae, bird droppings, chewing gum and graffiti, the City of Heidelberg treated the surfaces with the eco-friendly NP® Stone Coating from nanopool®.

The invisible high-performance coating ensures that soiling and environmental residues are easily washed off by rain, keeping the popular riverside area clean in the long term while reducing cleaning effort, water use and energy costs.

The NP® product was tested by the Institute for Stone Conservation (IFS), confirming that the treated surface remains breathable and that the natural material structure is unaffected.

St. Hedwig’s Cathedral Berlin – Protection for an architectural masterpiece

Following extensive restoration, St. Hedwig’s Cathedral in Berlin now shines in renewed splendour. During the renovation, premium Vratza marble limestone surfaces were installed – and these valuable natural stone elements are now permanently protected against wax, dirt and everyday wear thanks to nanopool’s NP® Liquid Glass technology.

No. Our Liquid Glass stone protection is completely transparent. The surface remains as it was – naturally matte or glossy. There is no visible layer, no film, and no change in colour.

The protection is long-lasting and depends on level of use and the type of surface. In general, the effect lasts for several years. On high-traffic areas (e.g. commercial entrances or stairs), an occasional refresh may be beneficial.
